BC Child and Youth in Care Week
Spread the Word

CONTENT DEADLINE: April 1, 2021
The BCCYICW Committee is planning a campaign to spread the word about how awesome children and youth in and from care are, and we want to hear from you!
Join the #YouthInCareAreAwesome Campaign!
What makes children and youth in and from care awesome? Tell or show us in your own way! You can send in art, writing, videos, memes, photography, or whatever medium you want!
Your submissions could be shared on BCCYICW social media, the BCCYICW website, on promotional materials or at BCCYICW events!
You can use the question, “What makes children and youth in and from care awesome?” as a guide for your submission, or you can share something you’re proud of about yourself and/or your peers in and from care.
Open to children and youth in and from government care in BC up to age 24.
Youth contributors
Who Can Be Nominated?
Nominations for the awards are being accepted for children and youth aged 6 to 24 years old.
Who Can Nominate a Young Person?
Award candidates may be nominated by MCFD staff, Delegated Aboriginal Agency staff, community partners and groups, foster parents, peers and individuals.
New Awards Nomination Process
All children and youth who are nominated will receive a Youth Recognition Award. We have a recognition process that is strengths-based and honours the achievements of individual youth, whatever that looks like for that young person.

All nominators are being asked to answer one question in 100-250 words (in addition to providing some basic information). Check out some examples of strengths-based nominations in the application package!
Be sure to get your nominations in by April 1, 2021.
Be sure to download the pdf form before filling it in!
