Recognition Awards

The Recognition Awards celebrate the amazing achievements of children and youth in and from care from across the province.  In 2025, we recognized 550 young people! 

Nominations for the 2025 Recognition Awards are now closed. 

Check out the FAQ below for more information about the awards and stay tuned for the 2026 awards early next year.

​Who can be nominated? 
Children and youth in or from government care ages 6 to 28 years old can be nominated for a Recognition Award.

​Who can nominate a young person? 

MCFD staff, ICFSA staff, community partners and groups, foster parents, peers and individuals can nominate young people. 
Awards Nomination Process  
All children and youth who are nominated will receive a Recognition Award. We have a recognition process that is strengths-based and honours the achievements of individuals, whatever that looks like for that young person.
